It all started with an idea. When Louise reached out to me on Instagram, I was thrilled! She had a grand plan for a custom artwork, and when I say big, I mean huge – a whopping 1.8m x 1m canvas!
In our creative journey, she fully embraced my artistic style and had already pinpointed her 'favorite' image as the inspiration for our collaboration. We played around with a vibrant color palette, making small tweaks along the way to reach perfection. Initially, green wasn't in the plan, but the scenic rolling hills around her place convinced us it was a must to blend with the natural surroundings. The result was truly spectacular, with pops of green seamlessly enhancing the overall composition.
One of the coolest touches was weaving her kids' names into the painting. I added them in the final layer, ensuring they were visible yet flowing smoothly within the artwork. Louise, a big shoutout for your awesome ideas, thoughtful inspiration, and for providing such a beautiful space to showcase this electrifying piece of art.

Building on the enchanting tradition initiated with older sister Scarlett's own bespoke artwork, Julz conveyed the desire to infuse the piece with personalised elements—birthdates, zodiac symbols, names, and the milestone word 'one.' This collaborative process transformed Ollie's artwork into a visual tale, echoing the joy of his special milestone. In the creation of this custom piece inspired by a loved one's passing, I approached the task with a deep sense of reverence and responsibility. Emily's request to memorialise a cherished individual is met not with a focus on the symbolism of death, but rather as an ode to the vibrant and colourful life that her Nana lived.
In the collaborative journey with Emily, we navigated this artistic process together. Her encouragement for adaptability in colors and openness to the gradual evolution of the piece reflects a shared understanding that this creation is not merely an artwork but a tribute to a life that mattered.
One of the most special parts was incorporating her Nanas favourite verse from the bible; psalm 23. Usually I would layer words upon the last layer but I really wanted to get the whole verse in, so I decided to entwine the passages throughout all the layers, starting from the very first stroke. this way, the canvas felt infused with the energy of a verse she so adored.
This artwork is a celebration—a visual manifestation of the joy, love, and beauty that defined her existence. Through a meticulous interplay of colors, patterns, and layers, I aim to encapsulate the essence of a life well-lived, each stroke telling a story of the wonderful moments shared.

Venturing into the realm of crafting a personalized masterpiece, I once again immersed myself in the unique design preferences of the client and her husband, uncovering a delightful blend of styles. Playfully acknowledging her husband's preference for a more understated color palette, we found a harmonious compromise—a palette rich in blues, blacks, greens, and earthy tones that seamlessly complements the Scandi-style ambiance of their home. The client envisioned this artwork as a captivating focal point, drawing inspiration from their wedding venue, the officers' mess in Takapuna.
I went to work and carefully outlined the scenic beauty of Rangitoto and abstracted the background, incorporating the specific colors and distinctive symbols that define my artistic signature. Layer by layer, the result unfolded into a mesmerizing masterpiece, not only serving as a stylish centerpiece but also encapsulating the romantic essence of their wedding venue. This artwork now proudly graces their wall, a testament to the enduring connection and love shared by the client and her husband, forever immortalized in a canvas that tells their unique story.
